Keep My Eyes to Serve, My Hands to Learn
You were cold as the blood through your bones
And the light which led us from our chosen homes
Well I was lost
And now I sleep,
Sleep the hours that I can't weep
When all I knew was steeped in blackened hopes
Well I was lost
Keep the earth below my feet
For all my sweat, my blood runs weak
Let me learn from where I have been
Keep my eyes to serve, my hands to learn
Keep my eyes to serve, my hands to learn
And I was still but I was under your spell
When I was told by Jesus all was well
So all must be well
Just give me time
Well you know your desires and mine
So wrap my flesh in ivy and in twine
For I must be well
Keep the earth below my feet
For all my sweat, my blood runs weak
Let me learn from where I have been
Well keep my eyes to serve, my hands to learn
Keep my eyes to serve, my hands to learn
Keep the earth below my feet
For all my sweat, my blood runs weak
Let me learn from where I have been
Keep my eyes to serve, my hands to learn
Keep my eyes to serve, my hands to learn
DREAMS COME TRUE
Dreams come true, Grace, that's what they do. The only variable is when.
For the slow approach: Resist. Attach. Insist. Deny. Stop. Second
guess. Whine. Argue. Defend. Protest. Cry. Struggle. And ask others,
when you know the answer yourself.
For the quick approach: Visualize. Pretend. Prepare. Dodge. Roll.
Serpentine. Do not waiver over intentions, but over methods. Show up,
even when nothing happens. And give thanks in advance.
You knew that,
The Universe

PERRILYN HAZEL DAVIS THE FIRST
Sugar and spice and everything nice. That's what little girls are mad of. Let me tell you: I.HAD.NOT.A.CLUE. how much love I would feel for this little creature. Seeing the look on my brother's face when he holds her melts my heart in a way I never imagined. She is a part of me and a part of Betty and there is just a special place in my heart for my little niece. She is perfect in every way and I can't wait to spoil her rotten and send her home. And Cousin Betty? Just look at her precious grin. She is so gentle with her, lightly stroking her forward or giving her a very soft pat when she holds her. I can picture the two of them holding hands up in Heaven. My cup runneth over!

HIPPY HIPPY BIRTHDAY
Yesterday was my baby sister’s birthday and I didn’t even
get to talk to her because she was flitting about in Isla Mujeres, Mexico. She
has been gone for a week and I.HAVE.MISSED.HER. You see, I have this crazy
amazing relationship with my siblings that I find very rare. I talk to them
almost every single day. We check in on one another and talk about what meals
we are cooking or our weekend plans or the weather. Mattie and I have utilized
every communication line available: Facetime, text, instant message, Heytell
and even TALKING ON THE PHONE. She always has a listening ear and is wise
beyond her years. I look to her for advice and solace and mostly a lot of
laughter. The truth is I am so ready for her to get back, to hear about her
trip, to wish her a happy birthday and to tell her how much I love her! Maybe
she will read this blog while she’s on her way home today.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SIS! I love you and am so blessed to have
such an amazing lady as my sister and best friend. Over the past year you have
gotten married, bought a home, completed your Masters and begun your climb up
the career ladder. I could not be more proud of you. FELIZ CUMPLEANOS!! I bet
you are one hungover monkey today.
